Dylan Baker

Professor Dylan, who hails from Hawaii, is currently a 3rd degree Black Belt in Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu and has been involved in the art for over 30 years. Professor Dylan began his
journey in jiu-jitsu after a chance encounter with Relson Gracie of the infamous Gracie
family.

Since that meeting in 1993, Professor Dylan has been fortunate enough to have been
able to train and forge friendships with other members of the Gracie family, and other
influential members of the Bjj community, ultimately shaping his style and representation
of the self-defense art which he continues to teach and share today.

Professor Dylan has a unique and proven method for teaching the traditional and
fundamental principles that make Bjj an overwhelming force in the world of
hand-to-hand combat. These skills are also essential for self-defense purposes. Unlike
today’s “sport jiu-jitsu”, Professor Dylan’s style focuses less on competition and more on
the skills and real-world applications for overcoming and/or surviving an unprovoked
attack. Professor Dylan also believes in promoting the values of respect, honor, and
self-discipline both on and off the mat.

Back in Hawaii, Professor Dylan was the co-owner and head instructor of Casa de Fera,
a very well respected academy that was known for its challenging but effective training
curriculum that produced many local state champions.

Professor Dylan invites you to come and experience why the original Gracie Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu self-defense program is so successful worldwide.

We look forward to seeing you on the mats!

Aloha,
Dylan Baker
